FEMINIST: a person who believes in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes.
I consider myself to be a feminist. I believe in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes: men and women being treated the same. Time and time again women have proved that they are more than capable of completing the same tasks and achieving the same goals as men.
And yet some ‘feminists’ seem to overlook this. They want special dispensation for being female. They don’t want to be treated the same as men, they want to be treated better than men.
For example, the objectification of women online is scorned whereas the objectification of men online is not. Why? Is judging men based on their appearance not as harmful as judging women on their appearance? Surely if we’re championing equality, the objectification of either sexes should be viewed in the same light?
Women are not fragile beings who need to be protected and wrapped in bubble wrap. As previously mentioned we have shown again and again that we are equal to men. So please, feminists, no double standards.
